That's the thing - I've seen the youtube clips as well and I copied everything they did. I've caught probably hundreds of trophies and commons all over the map. My nightmare at Quanchkin is the unique Channel Catfish. I then eventually got one of 9.5Kg (I think on the second in-game day I tried). As a real life carp fisher, I had more confidence in peas or corn.
If you search for 'quanchkin unique smallmouth buffalo' on Youtube, I basically followed the instructions of the first suggestion in the list (don't know if I'm allowed to mention channel names here), except I didn't use bloodworms, but changed to peas.
I then eventually got one with peas and a #1/0 hook on a float rig, during peak time in the afternoon (6pm-8pm) on the right hand side of the map (swampy open space). Do not want to contradict what Carpman99 said (he's helped me a LOT with getting uniques, so give it a try) but I also tried with smaller hooks and various baits for a while and couldn't get one.
